Bumbling Bay

BumblebeeThis released leaked image of Bumblebee is from the upcoming Michael Bay movie The Transformers out next year. The reason behind the drastic difference in Bumblebee’s design between the film and the 80’s TV show version is due to Bay’s hard-on that the Transformers Movie is as realistic as possible and the Transformers themselves have, "advanced kinematics and realistic engineering."

Now even I can't explain Bay's insistence on maintaining realism in a movie about GIANT ROBOTS FROM OUTER SPACE, but don’t forget this is the same man who brought us the films Pearl Harbor and The Island filled with *cough* logic and *cough* practicality.

And if you are wondering why Bumblebee is not a VW Beetle, well, the reason for that is Volkswagen refuses to license their vehicles for anything to do with "war" because of a lawsuit they recently lost to Holocaust survivors. According to VW, if I were to sit in the theatre watching Bay’s latest celluloid debacle and I saw a banana yellow transforming VW Beetle from another planet, the first thought that would jump into my mind would be that Volkswagen advocates Nazism. Morons.
