The Value Of Logic

I put a lot of weight behind the power of logic. Here's an example of logic in it's highest form, argument against the absurd:

The problem of course is that this sort of effort, no matter how calmly presented, no matter how well reasoned, no matter how iron-clad simply will not sway those who have chosen to abandon logic in preference to belief. Belief after all is by definition the supposition of fact without evidence. Faced with that, I'm sometimes forced to wonder what value there is in even attempting discussion with those so dedicated to by-passing logic as a matter of preference.
